I don't know about you, but after watching and reading Miss Mustard Seed and all of her German Glass glittering, I want to go out and buy it by the loads! She has been very inspiring! I started searching, and found that you probably have to buy it online to get the good stuff.
We finally found some glitter on Etsy at Glitter Your World for a reasonable price. It isn't cheap, but there's nothing like it. It is just so beautiful! You have to play around with it in person to appreciate it!
We made a few ornaments with our small stash of glitter that were inspired by the line of glittered ornaments in Pottery Barn. We started with the nest. Very easy and they look so cute on the tree. PB didn't have eggs and their nest was larger. We thought it needed some glitter to jazz it up a bit.
To keep it cheap, we picked up these little grapevine wreaths (6 for a dollar on sale) at Hobby Lobby. We hot glued in some excelsior and reindeer moss. I love the color of reindeer moss.
We added a loop of rusty wire over the top to keep the nest on the tree. Then we wiped a little glue over it all and gave the nest another sprinkle of glitter.
We were running low on glitter at the end of our ornament making, so we mixed in some of Martha's White Gold glitter. It is also very nice glitter,*almost* as good and probably much safer for the kiddos.
I do think I have a serious obsession with the German glass glitter. In fact...I think I'm annoying everyone around me because it's all I want to talk about! So stay tuned as we share the rest of the PB ornament knock-offs! :)

I love this, and such a cheap way to dress up a tree! I mean this would be cute on top of some gift boxes too! I think I may be visiting hobby lobby soon!
Cute! I've never worked with that glitter, but I'm very interested,hmmmmm....
Those are so cute! Love little nests!
By the way, I also love your new blog look! So fresh and sweet.
Now, I'll let you two go, you'll be scrubbing glitter off of every single thing you can see for the next two years! ;)
