EGGs, eggs, Eggs! I can't get enough!
Especially when you can take something so cheap and plastic
and turn them into something "egg"stra -special! :)
(sorry, I had to!)
I have been seeing egg crates around ~and thought it would be fun to make one.
It also gave me an excuse to use up my extra primed plastic eggs!
I started with two of these old fence pieces that were nicely weathered. They came from one of my many projects never finished. The color is fantastic.(thanks, Steph....and Kami ...the original fence owner:))
I had to use them quick, because my boys had snagged them out of the garage to use as weapons. It was only a matter of time before one was snapped!
I cut the fence pieces up into a small box
( I used small eggs) about 8"x16"
and glued with Liquid Nails and finished with a couple of "real" nails.
I mixed up some craft paint to make a bluish- turquoise and applied to the primed plastic eggs.
The color makes me happy!
Adding a bit of midnight blue to the turqoise was perfect!
My cardboard dividers look sloppy, but it's eventually covered with the spanish moss.
Super easy and a fun way to display pretty eggs!
The only hard part was waiting for the coats of craft paint on the eggs to dry
....I'm very impatient! :)

That is JUST ADORABLE!! After seeing your egg wreaths, I was outside yesterday afternoon priming plastic eggs....now I can't decide if I should go ahead with the wreath or make this egg crate. I LOVE BOTH!! Thanks for another beautiful idea. :-)
